The NFC Luggage Scanning App is designed to prevent luggage loss during travel. It harnesses Near Field Communication to give travellers and trip managers real-time peace of mind.
Trip managers attach NFC tags to each piece of luggage. Travellers download the app and register their tagged bags at check-in, linking personal information with the NFC tag’s unique identifier.
Throughout the journey, travellers scan tags with their smartphones. The app gives real-time updates on the bag’s location and status — whether it’s been loaded onto the plane or arrived at baggage claim.
Proactive alerts warn users if a bag goes off-course or is about to be loaded onto the wrong flight. At the destination airport, the app guides travellers to the correct carousel and, when a bag is misplaced, provides all the information airline staff need to recover it.
Offline mode ensures tracking still works in areas with limited connectivity — so peace of mind doesn’t depend on the airport’s Wi‑Fi.
